Core Hindsight launched with Tier 1 Financial Institution

Core Hindsight

Leveraging technology to ensure the Financial Services Industry can stay compliant

Just three months following the Royal Commission’s findings being handed down from Commissioner Hayne, Clear Dynamics announced the launch of their latest product – Core Hindsight, supporting audit and governance activities. In June 2019, the product was launched with the support of Microsoft, and now it is successfully deployed in a major financial services institution.

Clear Dynamics is taking on the challenges around compliance and risk software for financial institutions in Australia in order to meet regulatory requirements. Compliance and managing risk are an ongoing challenge for the industry and solutions like Core Hindsight benefit from cloud technology like Microsoft Azure.

The Core Hindsight solution is a .NET solution which is powered by Microsoft Azure to provide data analytics, secure data storage on the cloud, and improved productivity from the embedded workflow application.

The solution gained fast traction in the market since there was a lack of comprehensive governance activities in the financial industry in Australia to highlight systemic errors or loopholes. The governance activities used to be ad-hoc, random and even at times the results were showing gaps not being followed through to resolution. Also, the human behavioural issues were either not monitored or not actioned.

On top of this, there were policies which were in place without any objective assessment as to whether they were appropriate, and disparate systems were not ‘talking to each other’ in a manner that could ensure a single source of truth or data keyed items flowing through to other important systems for consistent recording of customer positions.

The Royal Commission highlighted such issues and having a robust audit or governance program is a solid baseline to ensure that results are being reviewed, policy outcomes are being monitored, and loopholes or systemic issues are being exposed.

Core Hindsight solves this need, ensuring that comprehensive sampling is a function of each and every review, and targeted sampling is also available instantly for any urgent needs or potential issues that arise. It manages the workflow of the governance teams and ensures all information is recorded in one place as a single source of truth, recorded historically for instant retrieval in seconds. It provides comprehensive reporting and dashboards for ongoing monitoring and management visibility to prevent ‘surprises’ and allow real-time insights to be gained at any moment.

All of this is possible and simple to deploy due to the power of Microsoft Azure, one of the most secure Cloud platforms for technology deployments.

“We are grateful for the support of Microsoft to launch our latest financial services solution. It is great to hear from our clients that our solution is technically ahead of anything they’ve seen in the market, and they can quickly benefit and see an ROI from their investment”, said Matthew Talbot, Vice President, Clear Dynamics.
